Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) and FanDuel Group have forged a long-term alliance to bring the excitement of equestrian competition to FanDuel’s sports wagering clientele. This collaboration allows FanDuel patrons to place wagers on horse races via FanDuel’s platforms, accessing the vast, interconnected pools overseen by CDI. Commencing in January 2023, this partnership also provides FanDuel with sponsorship prospects within the realm of horse racing, including the esteemed Kentucky Derby. Both organizations view this as a surefire win, with CDI’s CEO Bill Carstanjen emphasizing the opportunity to introduce a surge of new enthusiasts to the sport through FanDuel’s extensive network.
FanDuel TV debuted recently with the goal of adding premium equestrian content to its already successful sports wagering app. Amy Howe, the CEO of FanDuel, thinks this is revolutionary since it enables customers to gamble on both athletics and races on a single platform.
Howe is especially enthusiastic about providing wagers on the Kentucky Derby, referring to it as “the most thrilling 120 seconds in sports.” Additionally, FanDuel TV will become the sole broadcaster of races from Churchill Downs, where the Derby is held. The business wants to introduce a whole new demographic to the sport of horse racing.
