Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians are joining forces to introduce mobile sports wagering to North Carolina.
This builds upon their current collaboration, strengthening the bond as sports betting gains legal status in the state. The rollout is scheduled to align with the legalization date of sports betting in the Tar Heel state, slated for March 11th.
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians already possesses the licenses for mobile sports wagering, and this alliance will enable bettors in the state to utilize the Caesars Sportsbook application, awaiting regulatory consent.
North Carolina has been preparing for the debut of sports betting since it received approval last November. However, there was a degree of letdown when it became apparent that legalization would transpire after Super Bowl weekend.
While sports betting won’t be operational until March 11th, residents of North Carolina will have the opportunity to pre-enroll and place funds into the Caesars Sportsbook application beginning March 1st.
The two groups already collaborate, with Caesars Sportsbooks present at both the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel.
The gaming giant, Caesars Entertainment, has obtained sole rights for mobile sports wagering in a portion of western North Carolina, specifically on territory belonging to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. This encompasses two existing gaming establishments already managed by Caesars.
This development expands a twenty-year collaboration between Caesars and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Eric Hession, head of Caesars Digital, stressed the dedication to delivering a premier sports betting product, leveraging their established physical sportsbooks.
Chief Richard Sneed of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians conveyed enthusiasm for the ongoing alliance, noting the possibility of upcoming prospects that will positively impact their tribal members.
