The web address “Betting.Online” was purchased for an unprecedented $400,000. The buyers are the same organization that procured “Casino.Online” in 2017 for more than $200,000. This transaction reflects an increasing pattern of gaming enterprises putting capital into top-level domain names.
The agreement was concluded via the registrar Radix and guaranteed by escrow.com. “Betting.Online” is now equal for the fifth-largest domain sale of 2023. As a point of reference, “Casino.Online” presently receives over 160,000 visits each month, with a substantial amount navigating directly to the website.
Patrick Gerhard, chief executive of Casino.online, remarked that the “Betting.Online” acquisition is a significant move for the company in strengthening their presence within the sector. He contends that the “.online” suffix ideally corresponds with their objectives.
A global digital media enterprise recently divested itself of three European gaming domains and their corresponding websites – Casino.se, Casino.gr, and Casino.pt – for a tidy sum of $4 million in an upfront payment.
This transaction follows closely on the heels of the same organization, the Gambling.com Group, debuting Casinos.com, a domain they acquired in November 2022. Casinos.com functions similarly to their primary website, Gambling.com, serving as a comparison platform where visitors can discover links to internet casinos, obtain bonus offers, and peruse evaluations.
