However, this figure was still below the same period in the previous year, experiencing a decline of 31.5%. The state crossed the $2 million threshold for the first time this year, with only January and March surpassing $1 million.
Customers placed bets totaling $11.8 million on sporting events in September, representing a substantial decrease from the $16.8 million wagered in the previous year. This figure was also slightly lower than the $11.9 million peak recorded in January 2019.
Gamblers received a total of $9.4 million in payouts from 318,155 wagers in September. This was a reduction from the $13.2 million in winnings from 343,245 wagers during the same period last year.
