The Chilean Gaming Oversight Body (SCJ) has declared that casino operator Operaciones el Escorial SA has pulled back its request for a casino operating permit in the Antofagasta area.

Operaciones el Escorial SA, a branch of the Enjoy Group, was established in 2008. The firm took back its application in a letter to the SCJ.

The governing body then released an exemption resolution on May 4th, officially withdrawing Operaciones el Escorial SA’s application.

Operaciones el Escorial SA was seeking a permit as part of the SCJ’s casino license renewal procedure, which started in September 2021.

Since the process commenced, the SCJ has made headway in granting operating permits to Enjoy San Antonio and Enjoy Santiago hotels in the Valparaiso region.

Numerous operators submitted applications for licenses or license renewals by the February 22, 2022 deadline.

The assessment of proposals will conclude on June 23rd.

The SCJ stated it will continue to assess 12 other applicants who submitted their applications in October and November 2021 and January of this year.
